It’s The Return Of The Sud-West

Oh Montreal. Despite your mafia kick-backs, crumbling infrastructure, media fed language politics, and orange cones we still love the shit out of you. And it’s with that, that it’s the time of the year again when man called Poirier & man called Ghostbeard set up their completely recession and corruption proof sound-system in St. Henri.

Now on year 5, the Sud-West name travels arounds but our spiritual home is always on the St. Ambroise Terrace. Get ready for another summer of Tuesday’s spent canal side. We understand that your tax dollars went to stuff a safe at city hall, so that’s why ourselves and the good folks at St. Ambroise continue to keep this going for free.

After successful international travels for a four night stint at this year Jazz Fest, and a previous visit to warm up the Igloofest, it’s that time again for us to leave our St Ambroise terrace St Henri home and go international. What lies east of Atwater? I guess we’ll find out as we head for a rare non summer Sud-West up on the Plateau. But we’ve heard rumours that people in other neighbourhoods know how to get down. Our Turcot weighs a ton…son.

You know summer is over when it’s unfortunately that time where we announce our last Sud-West of the season. Come join us canal side for that final dance.

Unfortunately due to weather concerns the planned Piknic on Lachine Canal is cancelled. So not much sense in having an after party for an event that’s not happening…. Particularly with rain forecast for all tomorrow. Both the Piknic guests, Floating Points & Lexis are playing at Le Belmont instead. We suggest you go there for good times, and we’ll see you back at the regular Sud-West night at the end of the month.

Special Saturday edition of Sud-West. After party for Piknic Electronik on Lachine Canal. You should go there first as it features the mighty Floating Points and Lexis. Then join myself and Poirier on the St. Ambroise terrace from 8-midnight.
